Ballroom Marfa is pleased to announce our fall exhibition Longilonge by Solange Pessoa, on view in Marfa starting November 15th. The exhibition will include new commissions that respond to the cultural and natural landscape in West Texas, alongside important existing pieces made in Minas Gerais, Brazil, where the artist lives and works. The Chinati Foundation invites everyone to a special sunset viewing of Donald Judd’s 100 untitled works in mill aluminum and 15 untitled works in concrete as well as Robert Irwin’s untitled (dawn to dusk) from 5 to 6 pm on Friday, November 29, 2019. The works will be available for self-guided viewing. The event is free to Chinati members and residents of Brewster, Jeff Davis, and Presidio Counties. General admission is $10. Winter Solstice Viewing at Chinati

On Saturday, December 21, 2019, the Chinati Foundation will host an open viewing of Robert Irwin’s untitled (dawn to dusk) from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. The viewing will be free and open to the public. Robert Irwin’s untitled (dawn to dusk) was inaugurated in July 2016 after many years of planning by the artist. Configured on the footprint of the former Fort D.A. Chinati’s Annual Community Day

Chinati’s annual celebration of our local friends, neighbors, and the youngest members of the Marfa community—students from the Marfa Independent School District. The day features artwork and performances by students, select open viewing of Chinati’s collection, and a free BBQ dinner in the Arena. Everyone is welcome, locals and visitors.
