The 24 Hour Plays presented by Marfa Live Arts

Each August, Marfa Live Arts hosts a free and open to the community 24 Hour Play event. The concept is simple: participants write, direct, rehearse and perform six one-act plays within a twenty-four hour period. It’s fast-paced, creative fun. All interested actors, writers, directors and technical crew are invited. No previous experience is necessary.

2019 Marfa Lights Festival

The Marfa Lights Festival will take place on Labor Day Weekend,  August 30th - September 1, 2019, around the historic Presidio County Courthouse. This will be the 33rd year for the festival. The festival begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday when food and craft vendors open their booths. Bill Callahan will be performing songs from his latest record, Shepherd in a Sheep's Skin Coat. Callahan, who made several classic records under the Smog moniker, has been releasing records under his own name for most of the past decade. The new record is excellent, as are the previous ones.
