Jaap Blonk, one of the foremost practitioners of far out sound poetry and performance will join us for a night of strange noise. Blonk has recorded with many great contemporary jazz and improvisational musicians, including Mats Gustaffson and John Tchicai, and is probably my favorite performer of the 20th Century sound poetry repertoire. He's legit. This will be cool, but it won't be for everybody, thank god. But maybe it's for you?

Sommer Browning, poet and artist, will be reading from her work. Browning is the author of two really good books of poems, "Either Way I'm Celebrating" and "Backup Singers", two really distinctive (and very funny) books of poem drawings, "The Circle Book" and "You're On My Period", and a book of jokes! Browning has also edited a book on the work poet-librarians which gathers experimental writing based on questions pertaining to research and the archive in contemporary poetics.
